Tomorrow I’m attending my cousin’s funeral.
I’m gonna be a mess this weekend.
He was 32 years old.
He hadn’t met his “great love”, heard his children’s laughter, traveled the world… There is so much unlived life. Experiences he will never know.
Here’s the crazy thing…
We started drinking (overdrinking) alcohol around the same time. We even drank together – underage – which I don’t condone.
However, 5 years ago around the time that I went sober, his alcohol use became a serious addiction.
It overtook his entire life.
Ultimately it took his life.
On May 21st, 2020, I felt compelled to share my story of sobriety on YouTube. I felt like one person needed to hear it.
It turns out more than 1 person needed to hear it.
