3 simple yet effective ways to organically grow your Instagram account for your business.
Creating content on Instagram that engages, excites, and keeps your audience coming back for more is essential when you are trying to grow your business and increase your revenue through social media. Instagram gives you so many opportunities not only to find clients but to build a brand.
Often we get a little lost inside the ‘Gram with everything going on. IGTV, Reels, Stories, and your feed. It all seems like too much to keep up with, but with the right knowledge at your fingertips (aka this blog post), you will be able to better understand how to utilize Instagram to sell your amazing services or products.
I am going to break down 3 ways for you to organically grow your business on Instagram and increase your revenue!
So let’s get started!
1) Instagram Reels are the new kid on the block
Instagram Reels are daunting but I can promise that it gets easier, and it is worth it! Instagram shows your reel to the most relevant audience, which means that they are already a warm audience. Instagram uses that person’s browsing and search history to show them the most applicable Reels. Through Instagram Reels, you are able to tell a story, create strong connection, and build your own confidence which is a huge bonus!
Reels don’t have to be new content either! It can be recycled content. For example, if you created an IGTV that gives your audience the top 5 benefits to enrolling in your coaching and why then you can create a Reel where you just point to those 5 benefits without touching on the why. At the end of the Reel, you can promote your IGTV so your audience can learn more. The Instagram algorithm is currently favoring Reels, so taking the time to learn them and let them grow your business will be totally worth it!
2) Show up in your stories
Showing up daily in your Instagram stories creates a personal connection with your audience. They get to know you and the authenticity of your brand. It is easy to post to your feed and think you are coming across a certain way to your audience but you might not be showing your true self. Putting your face in your stories is a great way to really let your audience know who you are, and why you do what you do.
Building traction on your stories is also a great way to find out who your ideal audience really is. Instagram stories have so many interactive options where you can ask a question, do a poll, do a quiz, and get your audience to engage with your stories.
Your audience loves thinking and talking about themselves. So doing a few stories where you ask your audience questions in order to determine your ideal audience is a great way to find out what audience you are currently attracting. You can ask things like, “Where are you from?”, “How old are you?”, “Why did you start following me”, “What are you struggling with right now?”. You can tailor these questions to your audience, and better understand your followers. A great way to do some market research!
3) Create a feed that provides value, and allows for shareable
Content
I know you hear often, always show your face, which is good, but not ALL the time. If you really want people saving, sharing, and tagging people in your posts you want to try and incorporate value in your feed.
I’m talking about:
1. Carousels
2. IGTVs
3. Text on images
So let’s take a look at each one of these:
Carousels – This is a great way to say more on the actual image without a really long caption. You want to focus on keeping someone on your post longer but making it easier for them to stay there. Nowadays people don’t always have time for long captions. I myself don’t often read really long captions but I love sliding through images that summarize the information. People are more likely to save a carousel as well.
Carousels can be designed in a really fun way and if you put value on your carousel images then your audience will want to go back to it. By having a carousel you also keep your audience on your feed/post for longer than if you would just have one image. In a carousel, you can have the first image as the “heading”. For example, “How to create binge-worthy content” and then your audience can slide and the next images will have the actual tips you are giving. You can summarize what’s in the carousel in your caption as well.
IGTV – IGTV is also boosted on the algorithm and will get more views than a normal post. Creating an IGTV is a great way to connect with your audience as well, and you can also share it to your feed so that it appears there. Your audience will also be more prone to share an IGTV to their feed because it’s the value they find relevant and appreciated. Once you have made an IGTV you are also sitting in a position where you can repurpose a lot of the content. You can create a blog post around it, a reel, a normal IG post, stories, etc. You can really go wild here!
Text on an image – You can actually purchase templates called, “Instagram engagement boosters” that you can easily edit in Cava and add your own content. These are things like, graphs, pie charts, a mini mindmap, quote layout, question box, etc. they look like this: It is good to show your face on your feed but people often don’t want to share your face on their stories, they would rather share an actual image of content they find valuable. This is why these pretty branded engagement boosters are such a great addition to your Instagram feed.
So there you have it! 3 super easy ideas to get your account growing the organic way!
