Autopost to Instagram Reels for FREE!
If you’ve been looking for ways to auto-publish Instagram Reels, look no further! Today we’re gonna dive on into how you can do this AUTOMATICALLY and even potentially for FREE using Metricool!
My name is Rachel Peterson. I’m the US ambassador for Metricool, and I’m super excited to share this with you today because this is a massive time saver! So I want to share a couple of quick things with you because this will be an absolute game-changer, time saver, and money saver. I am so excited for all of us!
So Metricool is a social media tool that I am absolutely obsessed with! What I love about Metricool is that they continually update their features over and over again. They just recently announced that they have the ability to auto-publish to Instagram reels!!! So, I’m going to share with you really quickly how you can get that for free. So let’s go ahead and dive in.
Alright, so the first thing you’re gonna do is head to Metricool.com. Then what you’re going to do from there is you’re going to sign in and get all of your accounts connected, specifically Instagram. Now, many of you know, if you have ever seen my content before, that I’m not the world’s biggest fan of Instagram, but we do some really great work on Instagram. We get to connect with people, serve people, etc. So while it’s not my primary focus, we can still do some incredible things. So let’s check it out!
Once you’ve completed your account setup, you’re going to select the planning tab. Now, this is cool because you can also see the best times to post in Metricool’s visual planner, and I’m a massive fan of this. You can see the best times based on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, so it’s pretty dang powerful. But the first thing I’m gonna do is click “create new post.” With Metricool, you can schedule for Twitter, Twitter threads, Facebook, Instagram Stories, Instagram posts, Instagram carousels, Reels, LinkedIn, Google My Business, Pinterest, Tiktok, YouTube Videos, and Shorts, and sometimes even more, which is pretty intense. But today, we’re going to focus specifically on Instagram reels.
Okay, so now I’m going to repurpose my content from Tik Tok today. So we’re going to use one of the TikTok videos I just created the other day. I’m going to copy the link. And, of course, if you already have a finished video, you do not have to do this repurposing process.
I’m going to https://snaptik.app/en on desktop. I’m gonna go ahead and download that video, so I’m gonna hit download, and then if an ad pops up, just hit close. I’m going to use the same caption and hashtags for this video just to keep it really simple. So once the video is downloaded, I’m gonna close that and then select that video.
So I’m going to back over to Metricool and click on the video icon, and you can drag and drop your content, or you can scroll down and find it in your downloads folder.
Next, we’re going to make sure that the captions and hashtags are good to go, and we get to use up to 2200 characters for this purpose. Once I copy and paste my caption and hashtags, I’m going to add some additional relevant hashtags using this really awesome feature! Metricool has Instagram and Tiktok hashtag searches, so you can see search volume for different hashtags and make sure that you’re using the best hashtags for your content. So for this video, I searched for hashtags related to books, and I was able to see the search volume for all these different book-related hashtags and choose the ones that fit best for my purposes.
The next step is the review process. With Metricool, you can see your post preview in Reels as well as in your Instagram Feed. So you’ll want to check and ensure that your video works in both of these spots. When I create my reels, I try to keep the text as close to the middle as possible so it doesn’t cut off, but it doesn’t always work that way. So let’s go ahead and just peek to make sure everything looks good.
Okay, from there, I’m just going to double-check my Instagram presets and make sure that Auto Publish is turned on, and then I personally like to click “Show The Reel On Feed.”
Now we’re gonna go to “Publish Now.” Now, this will just take a minute, and then it’ll be all set. Of course, if you wanted to schedule the time, you would go through that same exact process. The only difference is you would select the date and the time you’d like your reel to be scheduled to go out, which is pretty cool!
