There are three things that I really consider when it comes to generating amazing content on Facebook. But you might be wondering why I start with content.
Well, the great thing about content is if you have incredible, organic content on Facebook, it naturally attracts people to your page, and they want, they really, really want to like it. But the thing is, you have to grab their attention.
There are three methods that I rely on in order to create killer content that knocks it out of the ballpark every single time.
Engage
Sounds kind of crazy, but some people seem to think that Facebook is just for selling. Not even close!
The thing about your Facebook page is you are connecting with real people, so when you ask them questions about their life, they suddenly feel like you’re more than just a corporate brand sitting up in an ivory tower somewhere.
You actually care about them and their lives, and you want to understand who they are.
So, one of my favorite ways to do this is to ask questions that relate to your target market.
How do you take your coffee?
What’s the first thing you drink in the morning?
What is the one show that you can’t help but binge on Netflix?
Now, I know those sound like fluff or filler questions, but that’s kind of the point, because people don’t always want everything to be so serious and about your brand.
People want to feel engaged. They want the opportunity to connect. So, by asking questions that relate to everybody, they’re able to answer, and they say, “Oh, I like this, I’m gonna answer this question,” because people take pride in their own answers.
Entertain
Oh, I love this one! So, entertaining is absolutely huge. We’re not on Facebook all day just for bad news and horrible election stunts, right? We want to have some fun. I mean, I know when I’m going through my feed, the first thing that pops up is negativity, I’m gonna shut Facebook a lot faster.
What I want to see in my newsfeed is actually content that makes me laugh, makes me smile, makes me feel good. So, it is your job to create that content for people.
Can you make people laugh?
How can you make them smile?
How can you make them say, “I need to share this with my friend”?
Great examples of this include viral videos, comedic videos, memes, funny graphics, things like use a GIF to describe your childhood, or a toy that you used to use. Those are super, super helpful.
Entertainment is so much fun on Facebook, so make sure that you are using the number two piece of advice in creating killer content. Now, keep with me, because I’m gonna share with you exactly how to maximize what happens on your Facebook page.
Educate
Now, that sounds really boring, right? Like, I’m not on Facebook to learn. But if you have the ability to translate something for someone and share that with them- you can help build your page indirectly.
If you can be the first one to break a story, or one of the first people to share a story, you better believe you’re gonna see some massive traction.
So, by taking the time to care about your audience enough to curate a feed that educates them on the topics that they care about, your audience is going to love you, so of course, they’re going to like you.
Gaining New Likes On Your Page
When someone interacts with your Facebook page content, you can invite them to like your page for free. When I went viral two years ago, I had 200,000 people who liked my post. You’d better believe I invited quite a few of them to like my page. You can do the same thing, probably on a smaller scale, but nonetheless, it contributes to a growing page. It’s incredible.
So, I am going to show you exactly how I do this. Take any given post on your Facebook page. You are going to click on where it says “People like this,” and you are going to actually go on down the list and invite them all to like your page. I bet you didn’t know that existed.
