Customers Don’t Like Stock Photos.

For decades businesses have been using stock photos of people sharing smiles, shaking hands, or laughing around a boardroom table. While these photos were a hot commodity in the past, they have started to become a joke.

Earlier this year Will Ferrell and Vince Vaughn teamed up in a movie mocking the business stock photo industry. In fact, their photos are available for free download… Unless you are writing a satire piece, I don’t recommend using them!

But why is there such a drastic change in the photography industry? What happened to the popularity of these photos?

As Forbes recently revealed, customers are CRAVING authenticity. Your customers are wanting to hear real conversations, not scripts. They are loving videos that give an “inside look” at your company. And the reason they don’t like stock photos? The overly polished, professional photos seem too good to be true.

Instead, using photos of themes that relate with your brand will resonate with your target market. Share photos of your team. Let your company’s real colors show.
